The Inability

My heart shattered like glass today

too delicate to produce tears of pain

because the shards were too thin and too sharp...

It hurt a lot today

and I couldn't speak for a while,

I'm too shocked to even breathe

or take another look in my thoughts

that have seemed to turn into words of false

ideas,

false worlds,

and things i've been dreading for as long as I could

ever remember.

My heart was too clear

and too pure to be touched by something

so alienated...

I don't want to think about it any longer

although it seems as if my mind is still

in the past,

and I couldn't get going...

I have to now,

because I just shattered my heart today...

it was as clear as daylight,

and as broken as i'll ever remember.

I have to walk on,

and I can't stop...

only the future could mend it now.
