I had to let our friendship go
All because my man said so
I tried to negotiate I really did try
But no was always the reply
But I was still your friend I ain't care
I figured he wouldn't know our friendship was there
But when he found out
All he did was scream and shout
I yelled back trust me I didn't hesitate
But then he slapped me cuz I forgot to stay in my place
But I took the beatings because I wanted to be friends

The day I tried to leave he made me cry
He beat me so bad my life flashed before my eyes
Then I told him he might as well kill me
Because me and him would never be
But then he did something that hurt me inside
He threatened me with your life
Told me he would kill you if I didn't come back
I knew he wasn't lying I knew it was a fact

I'm sorry I kept everything to myself
Now our friendship is gone and so am I
