Mourning Light

by jason   Nov 21, 2004

Dawn, the first light
Not here for
The light never
Stops burning.
Forcing itself
Upon my eyes.
Scalding the images
There to stay.

Nightmare upon
Nightmare the
Light still burns.
Nothing to do
But sit back
And take things
As they come

The thick black
Cloud rising
From the earth
Like my pain
From my heart.
No hope, just flames.

Flames of anguish
Burning in my eyes
Smoke from the flames
Burning my eyes. Blurred by tears
No light, just ash.

Coughing, gasping
Not sure what to do
Blinded by the brightly
Smoldering pit, ashes to stay

Piles, mounds, ponds
Fields covered by
Those from the pit

Gone, scattered, none to live
Jews, 6 million never to see dawn again

Don't forget, always remember, HOPE
