Nothing's Wrong

How can I help?
I know you're being hurt--
beaten;
mentally, physically, emotionally...

Why can I help?
You're so scared and alone;
what can I do to help?
Tell me what to do...please...

Each slap comes
as another painful reminder
that you're not perfect
like she wants you to be...

You go to bed with
tears and hand prints
staining your body...

You wake up with
hope that it might stop,
knowing it won't,
praying it will...

Everyone's oblivious.
They think you're so happy;
that she's a wonderful mom;
nothing's wrong...

It's ok.
they'll all know soon...
just how happy you are...
what a wonderful mom she is...

It won't be long;
it's all in the note...
but remember,
nothing's wrong...
