Forrest of dreams

by Rose   Nov 28, 2004

The redwoods but tower,
as terrible fear.
She stands before it,
afraid to go near.

She takes a step in,
determined to find,
a way to float on,
past the doubts in her mind.

The trees close around her,
an escape she can't see.
with desperate tears,
she begs but to flee.

Then she reaches a clearing,
his hand in the light,
to help her live fully,
and together take flight.

Above the canopy,
together they fly.
Their souls blend perfectly,
like each breeze in the sky.

He brings her to truths,
within her heart.
She wishes to love him,
and never to part.

His smile gives her wings,
to sail high above,
the hate and regret,
to bask in his love.

She stepped in the forest,
expecting to find,
a way to get by,
through her tears she was blind

He held out his hands,
to lead her through,
but as their love blossomed,
together they flew.
