Out On These Streets

We have innocent lives sleeping out on benches in the park
Their lives are harsh, cold, and most likely dark
All they get is maybe a dime a day, if even that, so,
Have you ever considered giving THEM some dough?

Think of someone other than yourself for once,
There are people that are homeless for multiple months.
All you have to handle is what happens today.
They have to decide were their family can stay.

You are guaranteed your next meal, unlike them.
When given a quarter, they treat it as a gem.
Because they have to beg for not their wants, but needs.
"Please, my family and I need to eat!", they plead.

They depend on you, like you would depend on them,
If you were in this situation, you would also want a friend.
Doesn't everyone? D you know what its like not being elite?
Would YOU like to survive on these dirty streets?
