Unborn

by FTS Miles   Dec 4, 2004

It’s a sudden burst
Of tender warmth
Which awakens me.
I turn toward you
And find you watching me
Your gaze glowing with
Some secret.

I tickle you...
And tease you...
For any explanation
To your stubborn giggles.

And then my caress
Glides across your belly.
You sigh and cover my hand,
Pressing it tightly to you.

Only then do I fathom
That this added Light
You have this morn
Is our unborn child
Shining in your eyes.

AWW wow what a lovely poem. I liked how you wrote it, with the giggling and the hinting with the hand on the belly. Beautiful poem. Very touching indeed.

Actually, this is naught but an image, a hopeful vision, but thanks for the well wishes nonetheless. ;)
