Them Part 1

by Shædow Poet   Dec 6, 2004

Blemish free, they wonder why?
Why when they scream,
There's no tear in your eye?
Nothing is as it seems...

Where's your make up?
They all whisper and say
They see your bloody cuts
Wonder why you are that way.

They tease your voice
When you speak up in class
They mock your clothing choice
And make their rotten jokes last.

They slap your muddy face
Making you bleed and bleed...
Why are you such the disgrace
When it's your pain they need.

Why do they hunt you down
When you just want to be alone
Why is it because you're not uptown
Your skin sticks to your bone.

Why is it that you never cry?
You're use to them and their hate
When you get home, you want to die
And end your dispiriting fate.

Why is it that you don't eat?
What makes you want to be sick?
Is it because they call you fat
When you're as skinny as a stick?

Why do you have a list
Of all the ways you can die?
Why do you never dream or wish
Of having a better life?

On your essay, the knife was your love
For your essay, the teacher cried
On your essay, you just wanted to float above
On your essay, you wished it wasn't your sister that died.

Once you come home, to your family
They blame you, for the twin they lost
That baby girl had no eyes to see
And faded into angelic mist.

So, why do they hate you?
Because your life is cruel?
Why do they want to tease you?
Don't you have a right, to be in school?

Why did you kill yourself,
After all the things they said
Was it because you were weak
Or simply because EVERYONE wanted you dead?

So why are they now crying,
After they would've killed you with a blade
Why do they not know?
That there is one life they could've saved.

Why did your parents shed a tear?
When they could've just once smiled?
Why did they make you live in fear?
When they could've loved their child.
