Why

I get up
Stand up strong
As I wipe the tears away
I wonder why they stayed this long
Why were you so special to me
Why couldn't I just let you be?
Why couldn't I just walk on past
That day when you were standing all alone
Why did you tell me that you loved me
That you loved me
That you wanted me
That you needed me
Why did I believe you
Why did I care
Why have I spent this long wishing you were there
How can I make up for all this time I've wasted
Nothing has been accomplished
Nothing has come from this mess
And as I sit here thinking of the past
I try and forget you but I know it isn't true
You'll always be a part of me and me of you
So many why's and how's
So many questions left unanswered
Will this feeling ever leave me
Will I ever be able to just let you be
