I awoke just this morning,
With a thought in my brain.
I thought if I had not met you,
I think I might have gone insane.

I was always pissed off,
And always sad.
I could not see past my anger,
I was just plain mad.

Then meeting you,
At the perfect occasion.
Was like putting down the weight,
And getting rid of the burden.

You lifted my spirit,
When I was down.
You made me smile,
When all I could do was frown.

If not for this day,
I would still be mixed in emotion,
But you have cleared away the rest,
Conquering all the commotion.

As I write this a tear struggles to stay in,
But cannot be held.
I thank god for this day,
When all else is cleared away.

I am left with love,
Which is all I can give you.

For me to love you.
