Dear Lord

by Charlotte   Dec 7, 2004

Dear Lord I pray to you on this lonely night
I ask that you give me the strength I need
To fight this demon inside that has made me so weak
From all the times he beat me down with his words
I ask that you help me beat this depression
That haunts me every day and night of my life
And never lets me be free from its tight grip
I ask that you guide me through this addiction
That you let me win this battle I’m fighting against myself
So I can finally throw away my blood covered knife
I ask that you help me be the person I long to become
To be a great friend, sister, daughter and girlfriend
And always be there when someone needs my help
I ask that you give me the strength I need to never give up
To keep going on in life no matter how hard it gets
And to never resort to suicide when I think I can’t take anymore
I pray that you answer my prayers and help me out in my time of need
Amen

OK so i'm not really the religious type, not into prayer or any of that, but it's still good for what it is. And since there is just one fortune cookie left, i'm gonna give you another. 'You will advance the careers of your friends in your climb for success.' That one make you feel better? OK seriously though your poems are really good so keep on writing, and check out my poems too.
