Perception

Perception

What do people see when they look at me
Do they give me a second thought
Do they wonder what my life is like
Can they see all that I try so hard to hide from the world
Or do my sullen, greying eyes give it away
Can they see the torment, pain and anguish
Do they notice when I wipe away that tear which somehow escaped
Or does my fake exterior hide it
My mask which is so perfectly formed, no cracks in sight
That specially designed costume that I forever wear
Or am I just kidding myself that I’m a great actress
When really I’m a broken, torn girl who died inside years ago
I like to think the world can’t see my secrets
But in reality they can see right through my layers

Again yet another masterpiece some of the best art comes from the pain we feel inside I think you know that only to well.
