I should have saved her

by Elli   Dec 7, 2004

I saw it coming
The pain she was going to go through
I saw it coming
The hurt he was going to throw her into

Why didn't I do anything?
Why didn't I save her from this pain?
I should have done something
I shouldn't have let her tears rain

I wonder how I could've helped her
I wonder how much she would've believed
That he wasn't the one for her
That he was just out to deceive

He made her so happy
He brought her so much joy
He told her she was pretty
She told everyone he was her boy

It was all her dreams come true
He was the perfect boy
Her love for him grew and grew
And yet to him she was just a toy

He liked the attention
He liked the kisses too
He thought it was great fun
But he didn't know her love was true

He never meant the things he said
He never really loved her
He knew he would leave her heart dead
But he thought it wouldn't matter

So he just dumped her anyway
He told her it had been fun for a while
He didn't realize that was the last day
Anyone would ever see her smile.
