A wish at christmas

by Mild insomnia   Dec 9, 2004

A wish at Christmas.

Sixteen days are left,
Before I’m right back at the start,
I don’t know anything, except,
You went and broke my heart.

A year and two days ago,
I knew…
What I know,
And you…
Left me low.

A shattered core,
A splintered h*re,
A started war,
A wish for Christmas to be more,
A broken heart,
A cracked up shard,
A compact piece of art,
A wish for Christmas, a new start.

I couldn’t eat for days,
Memories filled my stomach,
I felt sick at the ways,
That I just wanted you back.

A year and one day ago,
I knew…
What I know,
And you…
Left me low.

A so-called cure,
A stopped torture,
A settled score,
A wish for Christmas to be more.
A restored soul,
A recent hole,
A reason stole,
A wish for Christmas to bring hope.

A year only today,
I knew…
What I’d say,
When you…
Went away.

A shadowed blur,
A soughed whisper,
A soft assure,
A wish for Christmas to be more.
A peaceful sleep,
A passive dream,
A perfect defeat,
A wish for Christmas to repeat.
