Dying Love

by Lipton   Dec 13, 2004

~This is written for a book I'm currently writing. This is said from a girl's point of view, so please forgive any confusing pronouns. (No, I'm not gay)~

How could it ever go this far?
This end has left a forsaken scar,
A scar that won't ever heal,
Until my mind will cease to feel.
I just can't think of life from this,
Without your gentle lips to kiss,
And now I cry with endless pain,
I'm left alone out in the rain.

The storm has come and broken me,
It's now too late, to let him see,
Why didn't he say those words to me?
Why didn't I confess my love to thee?
But now it's too late,
Death has handed me this terrible fate.
I'm losing my mind, I can't think straight,
How can I be sure that everything will be all right?

My tears are incessantly flowing,
Nothing will stop the pain from growing.
No words, no embraces, no hands to hold mine.
I will stand here, until the end of time.
I can offer up a single prayer,
But it doesn't matter anymore.
The love I neglected to show,
Has dealt me a terrible, deathly blow.
Now I watch, as memories of him fade,
Into the wind, they fly away.

Sounds like a sappy romance. Interesting ... emotional ... tragic. The poem was wonderful. I'm guessing that her signifficant other has passed away, and she doesn't know how to live without him. Anyways- loved the poem
