Alone

by Driver   Dec 16, 2004

Walking alone never felt so good to a heart that’s been decepted.
Sorrow has never been so sweet to a soul that’s been unprotected.
Visions of a life fade away and only darkness is left to bind you.
Scream, shout, or tear down the walls because there’s nothing left you can do.

Faith has been broken by a simple lie that was left untold.
Lost is the love you adore and you dream about a girl you wish you could hold.
Feelings flicker and die out as the setting sun hangs low.
Your family looks for the answers to their burdens, which upon you they bestow.

With so much pain to carry your heart begins to harden to stone.
With no one around the hours grow long and you’re left all alone.
Strength withers away with each passing moment as you lose your ground.
Hope’s wings cripple as the fighting drowns out your sounds.

With the pendulum swinging your life away, what else can you do?
How can they help you or cure your tragedy, if they won’t even listen to you?
Should you talk to your sharp friend and watch the blood pour into the night?
Or should you grasp onto the last bit of hope and go down with a fight?
