Final Scene

by RaInYDaYze   Dec 18, 2004

He closes the attic windows in the back of his mind
With no hope for the future, his heart has been confined
Sucking for air but being poisoned all the while
He continues to fall apart, but bears it with a smile
Damaged and diseased, he wears his silence like a coat
Protecting him from the cold and all the pretty words she once wrote
He wakes up from dreams of knives against wrists
And a pretty girl with dead eyes, he knows she exists
A secret that he buried deep beneath the lies
The excuses he makes for every time he cries
He blames her for his destruction and all the hopeless tears
Trying to forget and shut away all of those lonely fears
Trapped in his misery, a promise she couldn't keep
A face that haunts him every night before he falls asleep
A twisted maiden, drowning beautifully in her river of blood
He saves her and her grace and sadness make his heart begin to thud
Falling in love was never so easy, the girl with bruises and scars
She drew him in and bound him with empty words like burning stars
Playing her little game, he licked her wounds clean
Trying to keep her safe, he could never imagine such a horrible scene
Her sprawled across the bathroom floor, the tiles painted red
She begged him to hold her hand and he just watched as she bled
And as she lay there dying, pleading for one last kiss
He turned and walked away, and left her to be swallowed by the abyss.

I'm so jealous. Bah. You are the most talented person I know. And I envy you for it. Great job.
