Pieced Together

I realize it is long but it would mean a lot if you read it and gave it a try :)

For the one with the glue.

I don't know how you make me happy,
You spread my wings out wide,
Even when i just don't feel like flying,
You help me see; you make me glide,

My heart is held on the edge,
Almost crumbling into the dust,
But you hold it in your loving hands,
In you, i put my faith and trust,

I could sink with a single word,
Just a passing phrase,
Is all it would take to make me die,
To take me back to my cutting days,

But if i hear that little word,
Those things they say that hurt,
If i come to you, you make me smile,
You can pick me up, brush off the dirt,

I know cutting was stupid but i was so low,
I could see nothing else, just pain,
But now my scars have all healed over,
I'm hoping i won't see my blood again,

I don't understand why you like me,
A little girl who had a broken smile,
I don't know what in me you saw,
What do you think makes this worth your while?

I don't know but please don't think,
Just in case you realize,
That there is no point to making me smile,
There is no gain of considerable size,

Your hand in mine makes me smile,
Small as it may be,
Things like that help me dry,
The tears that i try to no longer see,

You were my friend,
You took me on,
You saw my cuts,
Found what was wrong,

You held my hand,
You touched my heart,
You made me feel loved,
Right from the start,

I've never met someone,
Quite like you,
I've never had someone,
I could hold onto,

I've never trusted a boy,
Like i trusted you,
But you didn't let me down,
You kept my faith right through,

Little secrets,
Like who i liked,
I told you things,
You kept them quiet,

My girl mates,
They all do it too,
But you are a boy!
And you, you're you!

How you look and how you act,
To me you are perfect in every way,
I will always think you are the best,
I don't care what people say,

So thank you for being there,
And thank you for caring,
Thank you for smiling,
And helping and sharing,

I'm sure you won't always,
Be here for me,

You fixed my broken, shattered soul,
You gave me life; you made me whole,
My smile is back and it came from you,
I'm pieced together, fixed with your glue.
