They

by Heather Clark   Dec 19, 2004

They tell me to hold on
and it will all get better.
they tell me to open up
and they are here for me.
So i slowly began
to tell them how i feel
only to be looked at
as if i am a foreign creature.
They think the know
what i am going through.
So i ask them
when they thought about suicide,
and i don't get an answer,
therefore they have no idea how i feel.
They don't understand
They only make it worse
they question me
like a criminal
They don't listen
to my answers
and have already drawn conclusions
before i open my mouth.
They think they are better
than me because of the fact that
i am not happy and
don't have the perfect life like they do.
They think that since i am not like them,
something is wrong with me
but the only difference is
i am not in denial about my life or who i am.

Only one mistake that gets to me in this poem.

    They think the know
    what i am going through.

They think the know should be They think they know.

Other than that it was a lovely poem.
