Mosaic Picture

Tears these days easily build up in my eyes
Pain is my companion
It will stick with me forever
No matter how hard I try to get rid of it
It will always be there

I even tried cutting it from my skin
As deep as my knife went
I could never find the pain that harbors in me
All I found was temporary release
From my haunting dreams that have never left me

All the times I tried to relieve my pain
I have left marks over my arms
My mosaic picture of slashes and strokes
A found picture when I was young
Now a haunting past that is coming undone

The pattern I can see in the distance
Night when I take the knife and let the crimson fall
Nights when I try to see how deep this knife will go
But I try to fight the urge of the linger temptation song
A song that has tormented my mind for so long

One day I will see
The dream that my mind keeps from me
Then soon I will understand why I am the way I am
I will understand why I fear so much
And I will understand the pain that has lived in me for so long
