Tonights Play: Suicide Of A Young Girl

by Charlotte   Dec 30, 2004

I invite you to come and take a peek
Come look inside the world of this child
You’ll see how broken her life has become
This depression she can’t seem to fight off
It’s taken over her body, her entire life
But what I want you to see is her fateful demise
So please take a seat and have a look inside
Sitting on the cold wooden floor of her room
The bed propping up her tired and frail body
Tears are streaming so fast down her pale face
These days she can’t stop them from flowing
No matter how hard she tries they always escape
If you look closely at her arms you’ll see her life story
From all the nights she’s sat cutting the pain away
Under her clothes you’ll find even more scars
So carefully carved into her pink skin
You’ll also see the words ‘Failure’ and ‘Kill Me’ written in her flesh
She has held on for as long as she truly can
But this pain is unbearable, it’s slowly killing her
She’s dead on the inside; a hollow shell is all that is left
It won’t be long before she’s dead on the outside too
The moonlight reflects off a blade she holds in her shaking hands
Carefully removing the bracelets from her wrists, revealing all her previous cuts
She places them on the floor next to her suicide letter
Taking a deep breath she once again introduces the knife to her wrist
Pushing down hard she yanks it further up her arm
She lets out a small gasp, her body tenses as the pain races through it
Her eyes glance down upon her latest drawing
But it’s all worth while once she sees that blood rushing out
This crimson river flows so swiftly drenching everything in sight
Her floor is now painted suicide wrist red
After admiring her best creation yet she realizes the time has come
Lying down on the floor she waits for death to take her in its arms
Her body so cold now, she drifts in and out of consciousness
Finally the moment she’s waited so many years for has arrived
Grabbing onto deaths hand she floats upwards taking one last look at her body
Waving goodbye she turns and never looks back on her empty shell
