Jaded

by missy   Dec 30, 2004

The treacherous, short-lived way you look at me
shows me exactly who you are
the demeanor that you play to me
beats your jovial self by far.

Your youthful appearance is withering
you look older beyond your years
& even though you speak to me differently
your heart holds many fears.

Your soul is diminished but slowly lifting
even though you feel like it's faded
and the way you recently carry yourself
it's all because your heart's been jaded.
