Perfect Crimson

by Charlotte   Jan 3, 2005

Today I’m going to paint the most glorious picture you’ll ever see
My canvas shall start off a healthy pink but slowly fade to white
Before your very eyes you’ll see this change so don’t look away even for a second

My paintbrush is not like any other which you would see in an artist’s hand
It’s not made of horse, camel or even human hair and most certainly isn’t brown
Instead it’s hard and is a shiny silver colour which glistens in the moonlight

My paint is the most vibrant red so beautiful in all its glory
No other colour will my canvas even see but this wonderful red
Once your eyes gaze upon it you’ll wonder how I made such a perfect crimson

Don’t judge my way of painting just let your eyes witness my creation unfold
For I need not start with paint on my brush as my canvas makes its own
Watch as it flows from the marks I embed on my paper

For hours I will draw away until it is just perfect
One line here, one line there and a bit deeper there
Not until I’m satisfied will I leave this here cold seat

Wash my brush, clean my hands and wipe this clear liquid from my face
For my masterpiece is finally finished, its just right
So now I lay me down to wait until the world finds my last drawing
