I Want You to Live

by Jacklyn   Jan 3, 2005

~my first 2005 poem~

I want you to live,
Live your life long,
But you don’t want to,
Because you seem stuck,
In a world so sad.

I want to be able to help you,
But it seems like I don’t help,
You are so nice,
So honest and true,
You got a great personality,
That was given a raw deal,
To be placed in a home,
To be placed in a town,
Surrounded by sadness,
With no where to go,
You deserve so much better,
This you should know.

I want you to live,
So much of me inside,
Will be crushed if you decide to die,
Who else will I hug,
If you are gone?
Who will I talk to,
If you leave this world?

I want you to live,
I want to make you happy,
I wish I could help,
But I just don’t know,
How much I can pitch in,
But I’ll do my best.

These dark times will come to pass,
You’ll smile in a while,
Be wanted and loved,
Be happy inside,
And live a full life.

I don’t want you to die,
Because you don’t get the full picture,
You are so wanted and already loved,
By me and so many others,
I want you to live,
So I’ll help as much as I can,
I’ll be here to talk,
I’ll give a million hugs,
I just want you to live,
Because you are a really great friend.
