Getting pregnant
dropping out of school
barely making it to raise a child
running out of money
loosing a job
are they all mistakes?
cheating
falling out of love as quickly as falling in love
pushing the petal down slowly but surely
swerving
hitting the car
are these mistakes too??
it was only one time
it wasn't done intentionally
didn't mean to hurt anybody
it's not all my fault
don't put all the blame only on me
it was NOT a mistake
it was a choice
maybe the only choice
but never a mistake
no not a mistake
i had to do something
it only happened once
its promised not to happen again
but don't call it a mistake
it was... it was inexperience
no one to blame
no one person's fault
it just happened
but it didn't happen again
because then u could call it a mistake
and i refuse to allow u the pleasure of being right about something so wrong
because these are my lessons
maybe problems to you but never to me
just bumps on a hill
blocks on a road
and i drove around them
and i drove ahead
never turned my head
because i have learned my lesson
and to look back on them now
as mistakes?
no. thats just not gonna take
because i believe in me
and i have lessons to reflect on that made me what i am now
a person
a human being
another life
me
I'm the only me i know
and i just love being me because thats all i can be
and theres no mistake about that!
