My Final Wish

by ShatteredAngel   Jan 4, 2005

One million sorrys can’t correct my wrongs
Nor can one word I say
But I want you to know I value your friendship
So I’m going to try to change my ways

I can't promise anything
Because it might turn into a lie
Then I could lose your friendship
And I don't want to say goodbye

When I'm angry and I say I hate you,
Don't listen to a word
Cause I'll love you dearly forever
So why I say it is quite absurd

Somehow we've gotten through it
And you've forgiven me for it all
But I do it all over again
And then back to you I crawl

The message I'm trying to get across
Is to remember I still love you
And to have a happy birthday
And know that what I say is true

What's done is done remember that
Cause you can't change the past
So forget about the bad times
And enjoy your birthday while it lasts

What this poem is saying
Are my birthday wishes for you
And whatever dreams you have
I'll wish them for you too

You deserve to have all your wishes
And all of your dreams come true
Cos you're there for everyone especially me
And you always help me pull through

I'll remember you forever
And I hope you remember me
Remember that the past
Doesn't define who you're going to be

So thank you for everything
And for helping me on my way
My final wish for you
Is to have a happy birthday
