Barrier

by Aymon F   Jan 5, 2005

A girl put up a barrier
Because the word love
would always carry her
downward, opressed
afraid to share her feelings
afraid to put forth real meanings
to one single person
and end up left behind and
shredded, more alone
half of her former own.

it happened once,
Its beens a few years
and some months
but memories still bring her tears

Scared to even get near
their hearts and their mind
the fear of backfire
of too strong of desire
she sits behind her wall.

She's not happy
but shes safe
She's not sad
but doesnt risk it for one lad.

She stays numb
avoids sorrow and fun
passes through life
but there is no
unsheathed knife.
