Can't cry

Loss of breath
i have to hold it in
put on my fake smile
raise my chin

laugh all the time
have fake hopes
be loud as usual
crack all the jokes

cheer everyone up
even though i’m down
have to be the best
need to keep my crown

always the role model
forever be strong
walk with a strut
pretend nothing’s wrong

take a big inhale
get rid of the puffy eyes
hide my red face
put on a disguise

have to be the leader
got to keep it real
stick up for my friends
all the tears i have to conceal

i was brought up to hide it
another day passes by
ill always act the same
because i can’t cry
