Gone

by Incognito   Jan 5, 2005

If I could be
Who you’d wanted me to be
I’d still be here

If I could dream
Without having to face nightmares
I’d still be here

If I could love
And be loved in return
I’d still be here

If I could fly
And still know where to find home
I’d still be here

A tear rolls down my cheek
I say my last goodbyes
I’m sorry I have to go
And hope nobody cries.
Be happy for my freedom
It comes at such a cost
But if I went on living
My life would still be lost.
Yours sincerely
Incognito

Even in death I must not be named.

"No Incognito, don't do it!!!!" *paperdoll weeps uncontrollably, restained by a consoling body-guard* "It's not worth it!!!"

Alright, generally suicide poems make me ill, but I found this one chillingly enjoyable. Nice repetition at the start and I loved the effect of the last line.

Also currently liking your other poems. Do, keep it up and stay away from pointy objects. (That's what I'm told to do, anyway.) Cheers,

I'm not gonna sit down and write a poem about why, as well as being very cliched its whiny and stupid. Everyone has their reasons. And I'm not gonna commit suicide anyways, it' just a stupid poem.
