I Wonder...

I wonder if anyone would notice,
If I died today,
If anybody would care,
If I went away,
I wonder if they’d cry for me,
If they’d even shed one tear,
I wonder if they’d think about me,
one day out of a year,
I wonder who’d go to my funeral,
If anyone at all,
I wonder if you noticed,
My rise and then my fall,

My dreams have been crushed,
My life’s turned around,
I can’t carry on,
So I won’t make a sound,
I’ll leave this place,
Full of sorrow and woe,
The hurting inside me,
But I never let it show,
I’m a weak person really,
I needed some aid,
But no-one understood me,
So I lay there afraid.

I wonder if anyone would notice,
This blade in my hand,
The slits through my wrists,
My existence in this land,
If anyone would miss me,
When they see the pills on the floor,
They hear my cries,
or see my blood on the door,
A letter beside me,
‘No more pain in my heart,
I know I keep hurting you,
this is the only way we could part’.
