Right Through You

by Danielle   Jan 11, 2005

Look into my eyes and say those words one more time
tell me your promises once again
whisper forever and I'll stay
but don't lie to me for I see right through you

I heard the talk
covered my ears to the whispers
shielded my eyes from the stares
pretended you weren't all they said
still I heard the talk

They said you were creeping around
lurking around another
your shadows dancing in the dark, matching step for step
they said "How could she stay?"

Don't they know, I tried running?
Don't they know, you promised me the moon?
Don't they know, it's never been just about you and I?
Don't they know. . .

Look me in the eye but don't you lie for I see right through you

I hear the talk around town
I see the stares but there not for me for I'm standing tall on my own
and your begging me to return
still I see right through you
