A shadow behind me
trails me quietly
a voice in front of me
whispers silently

tomorrow shortens
as yesterday lengthens
the words i hear
cause me to strengthen

I'm buried in lies
and covered in truth
so refined
yet so uncouth

my heart's desire
is far from sight

are burning bright
