Teenagers: unfair

by Krystin   Jan 13, 2005

Teenagers

For all you adults
Who say its easy being a teen
Once I am done
You’ll find you’re statement quite mean

We go through every day
Taking cautious steps
Not knowing what life means
Or the trouble we’ll get into next

We have so many problems
So much pain
So much sorrow
We almost go insane

We have parents, teachers
And siblings to deal
With all that said
How do you think we feel?

Mountains of housework
And the homework list that never ends,
Not to mention the social life
That we have to build and mend

Sometimes it gets very difficult
To distinguish bad from good
And although you may not realize
Were always misunderstood

We don’t know how to tell
A good friend from a bad
We talk behind each others backs
Ruining the trust we thought we had

We are intimidated by others
And are forced to face our fears
Yet we know the cost
Of showing our tears

Just to be the best
Some of the things we would do.
Backstabbing, lying, hurting,
If you only knew!

It’s because of the smiles we’ve worn
That have hide the sadness underneath
It’s why no one seems to notice
That we go through so much grief

Now you know how we feel;

To have a friend or an enemy
Or to be stabbed in the back with knives
So please be careful when you say,
These are the best years of our lives
