A Rose's Life

by ¤©h€€®ƒüll¥♥©¥ñ!c@l¤   Jan 16, 2005

Life is like a delicate rose,
Always portrayed as perfect
It suffers bumps and bruises too,
You would never know its defects.

It gradually matures and grows
Its beauty, as delicate as glass
Finally opening up and
Seeing its surroundings at last

After great lengths, the time has come
To pick it out of where it has been
After it has matured just enough
After it has discovered what’s within

Along comes a day in this rose’s life
When it starts to dry up and fade
Petals fall one by one to the ground,
Never to become one bit jade.
