What is Reality Anyway

by Marie Lana   Jan 20, 2005

Upon my face the smile grows,
laughing out loud so nobody knows.
Always there for a friend in need,
pleading in silence but nobody sees.
Smart and popular, no one can tell,
That really my life is a living hell,
Inside is where my feelings are kept,
the deteriorating ache I cannot except.
For every night I lie awake,
listening to my undying pain.
Morning will come and my smile is fake,
another day, it's all the same.
Until one time when the sun came,
I woke up with a smile that was real,
that moment no person could ever steal.
Yet I no longer wanted to feel.
I tied the rope to my old bunk bed
and slowly pulled it over my head.
The world grew cold as I slipped away,
in hopes of finding a better day.
What is reality any way?
