Another Face In The Crowd

by jem   Jan 24, 2005

I've been lying to myself this whole time
Thinking that people actually care
They tell you with their head they do
But their heart isn't really there

I've been feeling sorry for myself
Thinking I'm different because I cry
While at the same time so many other people
Sit and wish they'd die

What made me believe people cared
About the things I feel?
Everyone has problems, everyone hurts
Their pain isn't any less real

I look around and see lots of others
With problems worse than my own
Kids forced to live on the streets
When they really just want a home

Life isn't easy for anyone
I never realised that before
I need to stop thinking of myself
And think of the people who hurt more.
