Destination Unknown

Destination Unknown

Screaming and rocking
It’s all in her head
But she still feels the pain
Of silence and dread

Laughing and crying
Her emotions are twisted
She tries to stand still
But her mind, it has drifted

Swaying with echoes
Her calls are deflected
The wall is translucent
But her pleas are reflected

Frail and falling
The depths never end
Fathoms of tears
Her body won’t mend

Stumbling now
Yet standing alone
It’s all far too much
Destination unknown

Her eyes, they are weary
From the tears she has wept
A complexion so pale
And hair so wind swept

She runs in the night
She has nowhere to go
Running to the distance
From the life that she knows

Yet she never gets far
Even though she runs fast
The trees are too dense
They won’t let her pass

And there’s always something
That’s running behind
She can’t see where she’s running
Her eyes have turned blind

It’s strange she can see
Behind and not ahead
Maybe it’s her past
And the life that she’s lead

She has to get rid of
The memories that haunt
They follow behind her
They tease and they taunt

So tonight she will awake
And again she will run
She thought the race had ended
But it’s only just begun

Any comments would mean a lot as always x
