Quiet little town

by Johnny Mac   Jan 27, 2005

I’m gonna catch me a train on a one way track
And I will leave this town and never look back
No I can never look back
Just gaze at the path ahead of me

All the faces that I thought I knew
They all wear masks and I can see right thru
Yeah I can see right thru
To their true identity

If you ever come down to this little town
They’ll all paste their smiles, and they will not frown
No they will not frown
Just judge you incessantly

We’ll all play the roles of a dearest friend
We’ll all live our lives as if today’s its end
Yet it’s not its end
It just waits to start, eventually

I remember a beautiful girl with a heart of stone
She had left me here standing all alone
But I’m not alone
I am only left, here with my misery

So I’ll just pour a drink and I’ll pass the cup
And I’ll fall asleep, and hope I can’t wake up
No I will never wake up
At least until eternity
