Cede to the better man

by Timothy   Feb 1, 2005

I have competed,
And I have strained;
I've tried to better him,
But not one inch have I gained.

I can't control my looks,
Damned if I can make myself smarter;
Being more creative might help me,
Might take me a little farther.

How can I win,
Against an athlete, Casanova, and a scholar?
I yield wholeheartedly,
And cede to the better man...

Father.
