Mesmerizing

Such a comforting feeling the cool metal brings
As it glides so easily through my flesh
Tearing thin lines which fill with blood
I make another incision in my tender skin
And watch as it to fills with warm, rich blood
With each new cut I feel my pain leaving

My lifeline flows out of my body and splatters on the floor
Making intricate patterns every shade of red
My eyes follow the river created down my slender leg
Mesmerized by it all, the beauty of it, the colours, the feeling
I am unable to blink, unable to break away from this sight
It’s such a terrible crime to commit yet so wonderful…
