Never Forgive, Never Forget.-Murder At Midnight-

by ♥-Sharon Ardern-♥   Feb 2, 2005

She stands alone
Watching him over there
As he talks to a girl
She told him she did not care

She thought she didn't
But seeing him
Standing there with her
His lips on HER skin

She can’t help
But start to cry
Cursing that girl
And wondering why

She follows them
As they take a walk
Listens to them
As they laugh and talk

Hears him say
To her what he said before
Only she was THE ONE then
But she’s not anymore

He kisses her goodnight
He walks back to his home
She follows him closely
Now she has him alone

It’s getting very dark
It’s cold but she doesn’t shiver
He thought his lies were OK
That she was a forgiver

But she can’t let go
She touches her hand
Against the gun in her bag
He never took time to understand

He hated responsibility
If she cried, he walked away
But if she smiled,
He was happy to stay

She’s smiling tonight
As he stops to light a fag
She stops, too
Taking the gun from her bag

She smiles,
Aiming it high
She pulls the trigger
As she screams goodbye

He falls down
With him lifeless, the pain feels bigger
She puts the gun to her mouth
And pulls the trigger.

They lay there
Once lovers, now both dead
They should have been married this day,
But they’ve died instead.

Oringal concept. Your poems exceed the normal bounds, genre bounds I should say, that most poets feel comftorable writing about. Good work here.
