Used

A heart once so shattered,
Once so torn,
Once so broken in two,

A soul once so lonely,
Once so empty,
Once so completely confused,

You came and fixed them,
You gave me life,
You filled my heart,
I put down my knife,

For once a light glistened,
Soft and pure,
You loved me and found me,
You were my cure,

But now my heart is once more,
Torn, shattered and hurt,
My soul is cold and lonely,
I am lying in the dirt,

Shards of love,
And shards of care,
Blood covered heartbeats,
No longer there,

Just cold and lonely,
Lost and confused,
Sadness and hurting,
I again have to go through,

Left here sobbing,
On the side of the track,
Memories all around me,
Always looking back,

Back to your love,
To feeling so whole,
To us two together,
And my complete soul,

Imagine a heart,
Still beating and bleeding,
Ripped out of your chest,
And thrown at the ceiling,

Imagine someone kicking,
Your battered, bruised soul,
The one that you thought,
Was finally whole,

Imagine someone stomping,
Hard on your head,
Over and over,
Long after you’re dead,

This is how I felt,
How I continue to feel,
Long after you hurt me,
And now it seems real,

A heart once so shattered,
Once so torn,
Once so broken in two,

A soul once so lonely,
Once so empty,
Once so completely confused,

This heart so shattered,
This soul so empty,
Lie inside,
This cold hard body,

Lost and lifeless,
Cold and confused,
Forget this girl,
The one you used.
