Unique In-perfection

by Christina Gomes   Feb 8, 2005

Death awaiting me
Crimson held to see
Black eyes of coal
Tears that burn my soul

Hold me closer now
Just don't ask how
The knife in my hand
The stress I can't stand

Screams are yelled
People are compelled
Darkness in its place
Life loosing its grace

Coming down to my fears
As the end slowly nears
Walking in the cold
The dark has told

Endless mounds of stories
The disguise everyone sees
Life held by a string
Cut it and lose everything

Threads of me
The things you see
Threads of you
Lost on what's true

Cries of horror
Nothing's like they were
Cries of pain
With nothing to gain

Live in some misery
This is what the world has come to be
Yearn for some good
Wondering how things that didn't happen should

Cradle your feelings
Sacredly hurting
Put on your smile
Say I'm fine all the while

Watch a flower bloom
As you imagine your doom
Now open your eyes
And stare as it slowly dies

Crumble to your tears
Hidden for so many years
The mask finally removed
Yet nothing has been proved

You still don't mean a thing
Tears your death won't bring
Still invisible to the eye
Still a silent cry

Now you're dead it's true
With nobody there for you
Laying dead on the floor
With no one to walk through the door

Nobody to cry for sadness
Nobody to be grieving for loneliness
Nobody cared for you then
You’re invisible again

Another failed plan
You thought as you ran
What a worthless life
You realize why you held the knife

Drip drop falling down
Finally erasing your true frown
Drip drop now it's pouring
Slowly loosing your wings for soaring

Just like how things were before
The things that you don't do anymore
You had a smile on your face
Finally your life in its place

Now you see I'm talking to my reflection
A unique work of in-perfection
