The Day I Prayed

by Leanne   Feb 8, 2005

Remember that day I prayed
When I begged you to stay
I held you in my arms
I tried so hard to keep you away from harm

My duty was to protect
But I failed when we got in a car wreck.
As I held you, you cried
Believe me I tried so hard to keep you alive.

I held your broken body tightly
Kissed you once more lightly
My eyes were wet
I looked at you, and visioned us from the day we first met

Beautiful as you were
I remember how I felt like everything was a blur.
Your strands of hair
Put off such a flair
Your smile
Reached out for miles

I can see your taking your last breath
Before your coming death
Your trying to speak
But your to weak

Whispering slowly and lightly
Telling me to Live life happily
I will wait for you at the gates of heaven
When all your sins has been forgivin.
Love can not die
Death just puts it on hold she cried.

Her eyes shaken
As her life was taken
I prayed,
Just for you to please stay
