Empty

by Toni   Feb 10, 2005

Empty words find their spaces
And create their hollow sounds
Empty words fill conversations
Meaningless speech surrounds

Empty promises made in turn
Then one by one they’re broken
Empty promises mean nothing at all
The moment they are spoken

Empty people, smiling at you
So utterly sad and fake
People caring only for themselves
It’s more than I can take

Empty expressions, fake and twisted
A mask for all to see
This is how I fit into the world
It’s the only way to be

This is how I cope with the world
I no longer let them in
Like them, I’m empty on the outside
But I’m filled with pain within

Thankyou for reading x
