Drink in the future

by Mark Hopwood   Feb 12, 2005

Every time I bring my mind back
It always ends up at the same place
The future...
where I can't be yet, But I am Now
And it's not anymore and can't be yet.
Then it's there, it's here, It's coming, It's going
It's seeing and it's showing
It's shouting me and listening to you
It's you all, It's in us all.

Though the skyline shows no light
And the clouds seem to swirl between horizons
Like waves in a black dirty ocean
It's OK, I know its only darkness
I know soon the light will return from its journey
It will come back from the shops, give me a beer
And say, open up and drink to the future,
Open up and drink in the future.
