What We Had Back Then

It still kills me to see you with her
and I hate to feel this pain
all I ever wanted was you
and you left me alone in the rain

maybe you never cared
and maybe you really still do
whatever the answer may be
I'd give anything to be with you

I see the way you look at me
and I feel it when I see your eyes
you might be happy with her now
maybe it was all just lies

but I find it hard to believe
or maybe I just don't want to
these feelings are so confusing
just tell me what to do

we could have been so happy
and we could have had it all
but you just stood there
while I couldn't help but fall

all I have left are memories
of what we had back then
I was always so happy
now I think of how long its been

I know you still think about us
and how we were together
I guess I have to let go and see
