Guardian Angel

Lying all alone, this child was broken and bruised
This definitely wasn't a fate and teenage girl would choose
An innocent life fallen victim to moral decay
She was blessed to be alive, to see another day

Nothing short of an angel discovered her and went for help
Her heart was barely beating, she was extremely short of breath
Soon after the paramedics came and rolled the girl away
With a tired breath, she asked who saved her, but none of them could say

Weeks went by and she couldn't get this man off of her mind
She thought if she found the one who saved her life, she could leave the pain behind
Then a memory raced back to her head, one of that tragic night
She remembered he told her his name, and promised she'd be alright

She then ran an ad in the local paper, searching desperately
But she received not one single answer, still this would not set her free
It was almost as if he had vanished, like he wasn't even real
But she knew the man had been there, or her fate would have been sealed

Then, one day, she received an unmarked letter
Inside it said, "I just did my job, I hope you're feeling better."
She read this lonely sentence many times, then stared in unbelief
As it appeared at the bottom of the paper..."Signed, Guardian Angel
Have faith in more than what you see..."
