Touched By His Spirit

by Tainted Butterfly   Feb 18, 2005

Touched by his spirit, his life brings us together.
For within each of us, his spirit lives on forever.
His time in this world is gone and he has left.
Yet his memory lives on in the times we can't forget.
Like when he went fishing all day long in the summer's heat.
He'd slave all day to find the perfect fish to eat.
To some he was known as a gambling honey.
Never short on wits or winning all that money.
To others he was the bestest friend.
From the day that he was born until his life came to an end.
To his family he was an unforgettable man.
Who could reach inside your soul just by the touch of his hand.
The joy of his life will always be around.
Though now he is silent, yet still safe and sound.
He would have wanted us to remember only a few things.
Life is to short so you must learn what it means.
Death never truly separates us from those that we love
Rather it brings us the courage to move on from God up above.
Blessed we were to have been touched by his heart.
And although time goes by, we'll never truly be apart.
For even though he seems to be so far away,
Within us his spirit will forever stay.

Written for my grandfather Ed who passed away on October 20, 1997.
