I Lost My One True Love Today

by Eibutsina   Feb 19, 2005

As the tide washes away with the ocean
The waves crash heavily upon the shore
How time can never be rewound a split second
I miss the times you and I shared once before.
Autumn approaches and the leaves slowly change color
The years can take there toll upon ones once youthful face
As the seasons have a habit of coming and changing our lives often
I miss the warmth I once received in your embrace.
Like a new child cries out each second, somewhere over the world
From unsightly cocoons emerge beautiful butterflies
How life is created so easily through an expression of love
I discovered someone new staring back through your eyes.

Like a fire destroying and damaging all the evidence
The gust of forceful wind blowing the remaining ash away
As the moments tick over leaving emptiness and nothingness
I lost my one true love today…
